Colorado- Enter a Higher State

Due to the weather we decided not to go to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and headed south to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The drive through the Rockies and Pikes Peak were absolutely breath taking!

Pikes Peak or Bust!

In July 1893, Katherine Lee Bates wrote the song "America the Beautiful", after having admired the view from the top of Pikes Peak.  A plaque commemorating with the words to the song was placed at the summit.
